The Sleep Report: Liz's Day One

I love sleep. When the alarm rings in the morning, I often think to myself that I could happily enjoy a solid two to three more hours of shut-eye. Come lunch time when I start to drag, I think to myself, I'm so zonked I could hit the sack at 8pm tonight! But of course, those things never happen. And it's not like I'm totally sleep deprived either, I'd say I average 6 or 7 hours a night, sometimes more and sometimes less.

Last night I got to bed at 11:30pm, but the alarm was set for 6am for a workout. So, I logged about 6.5 hours. On mornings I have an early training run (which, at the moment, is most of them), I'd have to go to sleep at 9 or 930 to bank 8 solid hours. Since I don't normally even eat dinner until 9, this is definitely going to be a challenge. I did notice I felt less snacky and grumpy today....so I'm determined to see how great I would feel with 1.5 more hours in the bank.
