Fit-TV: The Biggest Loser

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I enjoy watching The Biggest Loser. I don't plan my life around catching it when it airs or anything, but to me it's the equivalent of reading US Weekly on the bus--it's totally entertaining while I'm doing it and makes me feel a little blah afterwards. Like perusing the high-fashion dresses celebs wear to various events in the US pages, to me it's weirdly fascinating to watch these BL contestants drop massive amounts of weight is such a short period of time (uh, I once saw a guy lose 17 pounds in a week!!). I wish we got even more color on exactly what they're eating (besides Subway sandwiches) and exactly how long they're working out with cardio and strength training each day (I bet it's something like eight hours) to pull these insane numbers on the scale. The new season started last night and it's in my DVR queue, so I'll check back in every once in a while with thoughts from the show. P.S. My coworker at TOC introduced me to the fact that there's more reality TV along the BL lines, sorta like US spawned In Touch, Star, Okay!, etc, I suppose. Posted by Liz

  1. You'll have to watch the premiere. Some of the numbers the season 7 contestants dropped are jaw-dropping!
