The Daily Feed: Sites We're Searching 10/16

Maybe it's the weather--it went from sunny to dreary and grey. Maybe it's the marathon I'm recovering from--legs are fine, brain is fried. As a result, I seem to only have the energy to sleep, stare blankly at the TV and click links online. Here's what I've been reading in the last 24 hours:

Who doesn't love a feel-good story? Maybe this one about the Chicago Marathon's final finisher will melt your heart. Thanks ABC Local, you won me over.

No wonder I'm always so tired after the Recruit class's warm-up. It mirrors the moves featured in Health Central's The 7-Minute Workout, which could be comparable to hours of moderate activity.

How do you recover after a marathon? I've had everything from the stiff-for-five-days to the morning-after-awesomeness, but I'm always too eager to get back into the workout routine. After reading Hal Higdon's advice and listening to coach, I'm pulling back the reigns for sure.

Aw, I was hoping Portland, Ore., or Madison, Wis., would have taken the honors of best bike friendly city. Outside takes a look at the far-away city that won the title.

When you're a gear junkie, your eyes tend to gravitate toward headlines about new gadgets and goodies. So naturally I had to read about these new health and fitness toys at Today.com.

I've never been lucky enough to be in Hawaii for the Ironman World Championship (I'm game should any sponsors out there want to invite me to report, write, blog, etc. on it). But Mile Posts was and she wrote about the adventures. Like the annual Underpants Run.

Do iron levels affect your running? Maybe it's me, but you have to wonder when the hypochondriac in you suspects you're anemic, and the athlete in you thinks your race efforts should put forth better results. Running Times irons out the details on the subject.
