Instead, I'm writing about something that you can do today without having to run. It's the buy now, run later option. And no, I’m not talking about buying the latest gear though I’m totally lusting after Saucony’s Daybreak tee.
It's racing. You'll want to pull out your wallet to register for one, or several, of the Rock 'n' Roll races. Competitor is offering $20 off registrations for several of its RnR marathons, half marathons and relays today only. You could run as early as June 23 by signing up for RnR Seattle or you could plan ahead to run RnR Pittsburgh on August 4, 2013--there are 26 events discounted for National Running Day. Just don't set your sights on RnR Las Vegas, it's out of the picture. But who really cares when you can run through the streets of Providence, New York, D.C., Pasadena and more; finish on the boardwalk in Virginia Beach; run the streets and Lakefront in Chicago; go for international flair in Montreal, Lisbon or Edinburgh; and experience what makes each stop of this running tour unique?
Check out all the details, from the races to other National Running Day promotions, and register here. As for me, I'm going running...soon.
